Please use the service hours verification form and leadership verification form to keep track of hours before applying to NHS.  

• All information is subject to outside verification.  Be sure to submit coach, advisor, supervisor, and/or teacher contact info on the verification forms
• Do not submit any original paperwork or certificates in support of your application.  Submit only copies.
• ​Forms should be completed by the adult, not the student.
• Previously accepted community service activities include: volunteering at hospital, food bank,  library, senior center, recreation departments, assistant teachers at religious schools, First Aid, fireman (and training), police explorer; participation in community service activities sponsored by Boy Scouts / Girl Scouts or religious organizations has been accepted as long as you are providing a service to benefit the community; tutoring done through a non-profit organization (such as Count Basie Learning Center.)  Other volunteer activities may be accepted. if you have any questions, contact the NHS advisor.

• Activities not usually accepted as community service: Volunteering at a family business or privately owned business (restaurants, doctors' offices, landscaping, veterinarians, etc.), babysitting, internships for personal advancement.
